To secure your E gold account, there’s only a few simple steps to take note in which i realised alot of sites do have it included in their FAQs. First, take a look at http://www.e-gold.com/security.html

E-gold provides you with 2 ways that you can logon to their site. Either a HTTP or HTTPS connection.

The difference between a HTTP (normal) and a HTTPS site is that HTTPS uses SSL just like making a credit card purchase on the Web. This encrypts your data for optimal security. On rare occassions you may find a computer behind a network firewall that has difficulty using the HTTPS login (https://www.e-gold.com) . In that case, use the Standard HTTP login (http://www.e-gold.com)

A golden tip, always try to use HTTPS for E-gold.

Instead of duplicating what is around like guides, i’ll mention the steps and tools that you probably can use when you’re starting/ using your E-gold account.

The first mentioned “Restrict Access to your E-gold Account”
- Under Account Info of your Egold account option
- Scroll it down and you can see the following options

Set Detect IP Address Change Sensitivity to High
The reason why you want to do this is because if there’s any changes in your IP address as oppose to your previous, or lets say an unauthorised personnel who is on another network tries to access your account, a challenge pin will be sent to your email, asking for verification before he can enter. this stops an average bad boy out from your account.

The difference:

Disabled: No IP protection, anyone can login from anywhere without getting challenged with the correct userid/pass and turing number.

Medium: Any changes to your IP address wthin a specified range., Egold site will issue a challenge and there’ll be a pin being emailed to you. Being the only person whom can check your email, you will only be the one that access your account.

High: Same as Medium, with the exception of IP address. Any changes to the IP address will result a challenge and the pin will be emailed to you.

For browser change detection, do leave it Enabled. And the rest intact.
