    Dec 13th 2005

    Hi everyone,

This one is partly my own fault as I didn’t take my own advice and do any DD on this autosurf. I read a couple of posts that rainsurf was paying and maybe they did, I had no reason to disbelieve the posts, also saw on a couple of HYIP monitors that they were paying too, another mistake as I never really trust the monitors to publish truthful stats.

Well I did sign up with rainsurf and deposited $12.00 and surfed them for about 4 days, everything seemed to run smoothly, no problems at all, account was crediting fine.

Yesterday I called the rainsurf website up as usual to surf the allotted requirement to get credit and it wouldn’t let me login, said it didn’t recognise the email address, so I thought I would submit a trouble ticket, entered my rainsurf id, typed my message and when I hit the submit button it stated that member id doesn’t exist.

Ok so I can’t send them an email as the only email addy I had on them was noreply@rainsurf.com which just bounces back if you try to use that address.

My next step was to see if I can find out if they were indeed having database problems so decided to go and check out their forum, that was unnavailable, now i’m getting a little concerned so I ran a google search using the term “rainsurf scam”, Oh boy, did I miss this one or what, there was a lot of posts I found from a few people who had performed the correct DD on them. You can check these couple of places out for yourself, the address of the two which led to my decision to file a claim was these :
    http://www.realitymakers.com/forums/about193.html
    http://www.talkgold.com/forum/r44225-.html

There were others but these led me to believe for sure rainsurf was a scam, the main point was about the netiba certificate being registered from hong kong yet the domain was registered in USA, and also that rainsurf had already had their e-gold account and moneybookers accounts locked.

Having decided to get my money back I used the “file claim” option at stormpay and recieved my money within about 8hrs, no added explanation came with the refund. No email was sent to me asking why I had filed a claim, nothing. Incidentally while i’ve been typing this my wife tried to call up rainsurf on her computer and it finds nothing.

I would like to write another post later today or tomorrow on my feelings about NETIBA certification and NETIBA certified websites.

I’ll give a chance for some responses to this topic first, have you ever been paid by rainsurf? Did you avoid this program because you checked them out like I should have done? Let me know if you’ve lost your deposits on this or any other autosurfs and i’ll let you know how you can keep these losses to a bare minimum, you can stay ahead of the game even with the scams out there.

      Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply, i’ve just answered that very question in the netiba post but I believe they will cover up to $250. It is an invaluable tool right now and i’ve decided not to post it just anywhere as I beleive once word gets around this might be abused quite a lot and get stopped but while it’s available it’s very useful indeed and i’m not so worried about trying out new programs accepting stormpay and are netiba certified.

Thanks for the info Tony, as for getting scammed, it is usually when we get lazy and break our own rules isnt it? Every time I drop the ball on my DD, I get scammed. It is a sick feeling to lose a chunk of money to some low life.

I just read how stormpay always paids up when you are Netiba certified,,, I filed a claim, when rainsurf shutdown & Stormpay denied my claim, why would my claim be different than yours……

      Hi all,
Sorry to hear you didn’t get your money back farmers. There are a few reasons for not getting a result from stormpay. Your claim must be within 45days of your deposit, assuming you did this they can only refund your money if the program in question hasn’t yet had chance to clear their stormpay account out. Also if there was enough claims which cleared their balance out then later claims would not be able to recover their money.
It’s not a guarantee as everyone can see by farmers post, i’ve been lucky up to now recovering all of my deposits on scam sites.
My only advice now can be to keep a close eye on each of your programs on a daily basis, keep visiting forums and as soon as you realise a program is a scam make sure you have some kind of evidence to file your claim, it appears as long as your quick of the mark you have a better chance of recovering your money.

      Tony
