Never ever believe in emails that was sent by E-gold, look carefully at the urls that is being directed for you when you click them. If you realised you made a mistake by logging in with your details. IMMEDIATELY change the passwords again.

There are some articles lying around in the blog on tips and how to handle with E-gold frauds.

    Dear e-gold user.

At 22-th of December, 2005 the e-gold company has blocked a number of accounts
in the system connected with money laundering and credit card fraud
activity. The information in regards to those accounts has been passed
to our corresponded banks, local and international authotities.

Due to database operations some accounts can be lost. We are insisting
to our clients to check their account if they are active or if their current
    balance is right.
If you will find any presence of fraudulent activites at your account -
let us know immediately at e-mail anti-fraud@e-gold.com
Don’t wait until criminals will steal your money - help the authorities to
    block their accounts.

To check your account please click on the link below. Thank you.

    Thank you
    Accounts Management

Emails like this, you can just thrash them without even reading. If you are worried, check the HYIP forums or https://www.e-gold.com/

    Merry Christmas to all again!

Definitely be aware of ALL such “phishing” scams — not just people pretending to be e-gold.

Honestly, NO BANK should EVER e-mail you. Never click links. If you have accidentally clicked a phishing link, have a PC security expert check your PC out. I’ve seen some sites install programs that modify a file (called HOSTS) to permanently change some links to hit their sites.

Be cautious and never EVER trust e-mails.

I wonder why people like to do this. I think they should channel their skills to better use. (Maybe working with Secret Agents? :p
