Alientrust Take Another Step Towards Legitimacy
Tags: No Tags.Another MAJOR UPDATE from Alientrust. It’s an impressive update and these guys are definitely walking down the path towards legitimacy it seems. They continue to take major steps to be both a valid company and to make sure it is understood that their advertising is legitimate and carries weight.
However, the main thing I am waiting on is a nice juicy update on Stormpay Refunds!
“Good Evening Everyone,
As most of you have already noticed we’ve made some very large changes in the website to make things better and smoother for all.
But before I get into the Updates there is a very important announcement.
ON MARCH 28, BETWEEN 3AM AND 5AM SERVER TIME THE DATABASE WILL BE LOCKED FOR MAINTENANCE.
Our Techs at RackSpace will be installing some database replication so that we can ease the load on the server, and smooth the Ad Viewing and login problems.
YOU CANNOT VIEW ADS DURING THIS TIME SO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO VIEW AT A DIFFERENT TIME – THERE WILL BE NO CREDITS ISSUED FOR THIS DOWNTIME.
Ok – now on with the updates.
As many of you have seen already (by the way the fax machine is running out of ink) we’ve added our Member Agreement and Tax documents into the back office, and it IS mandatory that you send this information in in order to be paid.
We MUST document your earnings for tax purposes and so that we may send out the appropriate documents prior to Jan 30th of 2007. This does not stop you from earnings commissions through viewing ads, or on your affiliate sales, and you may still transfer to your holding account, but we MUST have this information before we can issue a payout through E-Gold moving forward.
This would be mandatory in a few days anyway because this is all information we would need to send out the Virtual Money cards. So – don’t panic folks – it’s all part of the plan.
Secondly, as you’ve seen on the Member Agreement form, our LLC. license has come through, and we will begin changing all references of the company from North Shore Media to W3MA, LLC. starting tomorrow.
For those of you NOT in the know – W3MA stands for World Wide Web Marketing Association. We’ll begin changing over the support site within the next day or so as well.
We’ve also solved the issue that many folks raised concerning not being able to view all the ads during a session PRIOR to selecting one for their survey.
The Survey this Ad Link will now be shown throughout the duration of your session and you’ll simply Update your vote if you come across a site you like better than the one you’ve previously voted for – very simple.
The shopping cart is up – albeit not designed or filled with stuff yet – we’re going to be working on the design over the next week. We won’t be adding any product until get some pics taken of all the gear that should be here on Friday. You can go create an account though if you want and poke around. The payment ifno is LIVE so don’t buy any of those test products in there – YOU WILL be charged if you try to make a purchase. The shop is at http://shop.alientrust.com
We spoke last week about folks NOT entering URLS for their purchased Ad Buys and we decided to take a very firm stand. We’ve added some validation and a stern message on the page, but inevitably there will be someone who wants to test me – my advice would be NOT to do that.
We will refund you and delete your account – period. This is an advertising business not an autosurf – there’s plenty of places where you can go be complacent – this ain’t one of them. So if you wish to stay here – put your ad in. Nuff said.
I’m sure there’s some stuff I’m forgetting – oh yeah – for added security we’ve added the feature that you can no longer change your payment id in your profile. Believe me this is NOT something we wanted to do because it simply creates more work for the staff, but you will now need to hit the Billing Dept – through the Support Desk to change your payout id. Hopefully these idiot hackers will go pester someone else since they can’t hack in and re-route anyone’s egold account.
I’m sure there’s more but I’m exhausted and I still need to get into the forum for a bit.
Thanks everyone and have a great night.
Vince”

Good updates, but Vince, as cocky as ever. lol
Then again, I don’t like the new option that they need verification of members. Why would they want it anyway? And an 8E form for international member? That ought to raise alot of peoples’ attention
Well I suppose I am one out on this subject. I deleted my account because of the Verification requirements. Not that I have anything to hide. If you just take a minute to think, where does this information go to that we supply faceless men/women who hide behind a computer monitor. I am not saying for one minute that Vince and Brian are CROOKS, but if we allow this process to continue, what about all the SCUMBAGS that you give your personal information too, come on surfers, but the brain into action before the mouth.
I’m considering an on-the-fence approach to the dilemma of whether to ask for a refund or get verified. I think I’m going with 100% compound to see how this plays out. I realize that this is a dangerous position and I may wind up either walking away with nothing or submitting documentation down the road.
Optional Scenarios:
1. Vince starts a trend that other autosurfs follow. Some autosurfs won’t follow and will advertise that you don’t have to submit sensitive data to them. In this scenario I believe that most autosurfers will succumb to sending their information to admins. It becomes the norm and AT grows. (Internet identity theft gets a new avenue for stealing personal data.) The majority begin to believe that an autosurf is prudent if they require sensitive data. I will probably follow suit, but just for my favorite, proven autosurfs. The paranoid will walk away from autosurfs and stick to HYIPs.
2. No or few other autosurfs follow suit and it doesn’t become a trend. Cheerleaders of AT will no doubt follow them no matter what. People that reluctantly submitted their data will slowly leave. Some will request refunds. Few new members join because of the sensitive data. Life will go on for AT because Vince keeps the DD requirement and continues to pull new tricks out of his hat. The new tricks may increase new membership again. It’ll depend on growth as to whether I walk away or succumb to submission. It will be too late to get a refund.
3. No other autosurfs follow suit. It doesn’t become a trend. Too many request a refund. Refund request payments are posted, which spark more refunds. New membership grinds to a slow halt. Vince realizes that people won’t stand for him ransoming earned commissions for the price of sensitive data. Growth slows so bad that Vince can’t pull enough tricks to get it growing again. He removes the sensitive data requirement. I start withdrawing, instead of compounding. (Or if he closes I get nothing.)
4. None of the above options happen. Something completely unexpected throws a new twist to the AT saga. Outcome is unknown.
Remember that we send sensitive information to unknown admins of payment processors and somehow it’s looked on as a good thing that they are being prudent. Yet, when we send in sensitive information to unknown admins of slightly more risky autosurfs it’s looked on as a bad thing that they want such private data.
Would you believe that I’m undecided? LOL

Vince always pull big stunts and many would agree with me, without discussing with the members, hitting the button without thinking of its consequence (or maybe he did). In other words and honestly IMO, there can be another amazing change again till we can’t adapt to them.
I’d opt out, and it’s just nice since my shares became 0 here. But should my readers sign up under me and continue with AT, i’ll donate 32$ to them.
