I have been concerned for some time about the sustainability of EGold. As a ten year veteran of Internet business projects, with the extensive use of many payment processors, it occurs to me that even the years old EGold could conceivable be toppled by the USA Patriot Act's influence.

It is difficult to imagine what would happen were they to be shut down without notice. How many people do you imagine would be affected, especially with so many AS programs migrating to EGold?

Is it just a matter of time, or am I being paranoid?

Hey Sharon, GIG is a group formed by GoldenTalk forum, more of a group of investors starting a pool for investors. You can check them out at http://www.goldentalk.com/

My simple opinion: I'd run when they have their own processors, any of the programs that is. lol

Jude: What is GIG? (I know this is off topic.)

Everyone: What are your thoughts on Autosurfs/HYIPs opening their own payment processor sites?

Thanks,
Sharon

It would seem very true that chargebacks can kill an ecurrency any time. E-gold is the leader among the packs to demonstrate who's is the best in the industry.

Btw, HighRoller, are you interested to be in GIGs?

I think that the SP decision had more to do with staying out of the courtroom than anything. As for payment processors, for them to be worth their weight in salt, they have to be worth their weight in gold. The only way that a payment processor is going to be viable is if it is set up like E-Gold, Pecunix, E-Bullion, etc... Those currencies are separated from the investors by exchange centers and insulated from credit card chargebacks. That is what has sustained them and that is what will keep them running.

I haven't searched (and don't intend to) for the real explanation as to why SP switched from a payment processor to an auction site. My speculation is that it was most likely part of the deal they made with the SEC for turning in information about 12DP.

As for their debit card? I think that they are still trying to make a quick buck!
