Peter, Club-FX Trader has decided to stop taking deposits with an email explaining what is going on and the added potential risk if additional funds come in.

A good and responsible move.

Now that we’ve successfully managed to move to the monthly program with very few problems, we need to look ahead and plan for the future.

One thing I see as an potential risk comming up is the rapid growth of the fund, the reason I see it as a potential risk is that the amount that I’m allowed to trade with at Marketiva is limited. They allow you to trade with $1000.00 when you start and are allowed to increase it every two weeks by $1000.000, unless you deposit by e-gold then you can only increase it by $500.00.

That means that if I have for example $10 000.00 in the account and can trade with a maximum position size of $1000.00 then i am trading with up to 10% of the fund.

What’s happening with us is that the deposits are catching up with the amount that I can trade with and if they overtake it then I might have difficulty keeping up. what I mean is, if i can only trade with 1% of the fund then it’s harder to make the required 20% every month, where if I trade with 5% of the fund the target is much easier to reach.

So what I’ve decided to do for now is to pause on taking new deposits until I can increase the amount that I can trade with to a level that is safe to add more funds to.

Another thing that might help a little is for you all to start taking more of your profits, or instead of compounding at 100% maybe compound at 75% or 50%. that will help to keep the fund size under control.

I think it’s safer for all of us if I keep the fund growing at a moderate rate rather than be a hero and accept more money than what we can trade with.
