GHPi - fear of E-Gold’s future

GHPi is yet another HYIP which still hangs on. They claim that they trade on various stock exchanges (for daily fixed percentage, LOL) but thats not the point.
For some of you that are in, few days ago were announced some interesting news.
GHPi claims that E-gold will suffer from ongoing FBI investigation in January.
It is very easy to discover that E-Gold is registered in Nevis. Thus there is no legal way for FBI to investigate the company (FBI had to be a world police). FBI can only investigate E-Gold’s storage suppliers in the US (The Brink’s Company) and that has nothing to do with use of E-Gold’s service. Of course they can investigate accounts with permission from E-Gold.
GHPi’s solution is to move money to other payment processor preferring GHPcash. Doesn’t it sound familiar? They will accept other processors as well but for how long I ask?
At first I thought that this is a complete nonsense and just another crap from a scam site, that want you to make it easier to them. But maybe there is something real on which it is based of. From august there is probably a legal action against SolidInvestments.com which also accuses E-Gold from liability for investors money. It was mentioned on a site of World Law Direct.
In my opinion its impossible due to the fact that E-Gold is a company from Nevis and not US.

It’s pretty naive to assume that just because e-gold is registered in Nevis that they are protected from the U.S. government’s intervention. They operate out of Florida, and because of this fact they are at the mercy of the whims of the US.
Naive?
“We believe e-gold Ltd. is subject to U.S. Federal Court jurisdiction and may be held liable for some or all of the investors’ losses (and potential triple damages) in the Solid Investment scam.”
Claiming that e-gold is liable for looses and damages is naive. You see any mentioning of banks being liable?
I’d say its scary when educated people like lawyers are making such delusional statements… not to mention US who like to think they can bully anyone and everything.
Hmm you’re right, my look was a little simple-minded. But where is the boundary for the U.S. Gov. AFAIK support offices nad Omnipay are in Florida.
If a company offers services in the US (and even though it is only through the internet) they are bound to US laws.
Its not only the World-Direct Law order against e-Gold, there are more behind going on. Please read these links carefully:

No you are right… its not WDL against e-Gold. It’s US against everything they don’t have full insight and/or control over, be it legit or not.
Sure, if the company is based in U.S. its fine, but the fact remains that it can be located anywhere on the globe and they still think they can do anything with it without working together with other governments and/or law enforcement agencies.
If they don’t get a piece of it, they will do whatever it takes to bring it down. They even start wars with false evidence and lies.
This is a really sensitive issue, but I’d rather not speculate when it comes to E-gold’s supremacy of liquidity when it comes to in and outexchanging. The rest doesn’t come close to this baby’s length of service.
It’s good to always be caution and not keep too much amount on your EG account, but such noise should be treated just like your plain rumours.
I’m more curious on how long GHPI is gonna last instead.
They e-gold seem to be looking forward anyway http://www.e-gold.com/tenyears.html
There seems to be the usual amount of e-gold stories out there maybe some extra. I was musing if this could be due to there being a whole bunch of people that weren’t in love with e-gold due to events in last few weeks. They dropped a whole country didn’t they? Feel really sorry for those guys I know if it was mine I would be upset. (aust)
What surprises me the most is the fact that somehow the lawyers would think egold is to blame. This is such a common practice in the US anymore, since we can’t get money from where it should come from, lets look for anyone even remotely connected who has money, put part of the blame on them and sue them.
I suppose that’s why I’ve read a few articles about egold working with the FBI recently
Perhaps, we do not need to blame the US infringement of others’ rights just yet, although it is very obvious that they are blind/ignorant to any non-US citizens’ rights. How did they put it “Walker was just a misguided child” (the US citizen arrested with the Taliban in Afghanistan), where as all those poor slobs in Guantanamo were target practicing with automatics right in their mother’s wombs!!
Please read the below article thoroughly.

It appears that in an effort to keep themselves out of the limelight, e-gold is volunteering what they see as potential fraudulent activities.
Too bad, they will not take a real stand and refund people that get scammed after a little investigation of their own. It is nice to dream though!!

Sure, the GHPi claims are ridiculous and has nothing to do with e-Gold’s problems with the government.
