Was trying to get some information on e-gold etc and your story is very informative. I usually try to check out whatever I can so I went to the ebay company that you mentioned uBuyWeRush...6 months since the story was written the ebay store is still there and doing wonderful as a power seller. He is still selling MSR-206 items and is also still accepting e-gold. Perhaps he has not been burned as badly as the story indicates? This re-plenishes my inquisitive nature...

HI James,

That's thinking outside the box. LOL! Unfortunately, you can't sue e-gold for a trojan anymore than you can sue your bank because of identity theft. It is up to you to safeguard your system and you information.

For tips on e-gold safety read http://hyipblog.nobshyip.net/2006/04/19/keep-your-accounts-safe/

JMO,

can i sue e-gold for trojan that stole my username, password and email account?

i was not aware that such thing can happen

they did not notify its users that there was such a possibility.

can e-gold be held responsible and be liable?

must go to court to get answer?

E-gold will survive if they manage to get through a few possible future obstacles. Any new legislation or regulations in the US. They just showed that changing to fit those new regs may be as easy as a software upgrade when they put in the switch to turn off any incoming US transfers. That was one great addition and put it right for the gambling cops. So next month if the US changes the regs and to say 'you must KYC and do this 1,2,3', then e-gold needs to make that change and they should be fine. There is no reason, they would not 'fix it' if asked.
Its a strong operation but they will need to change and adapt to any new rules if and when they appear. It seems they are well schooled at making changes to continue their daily successful business.

If these nasty stories keep coming out, e-gold probably will start losing its customers….

yeah yeah, egold is the must widely "gold" owning company out there, even when the US blocked access to their resources in the US they were still able to operate using the spare capacity in other countries. The strength of e-gold is that its customers can see there gold held by reputable external companies such as
http://www.e-gold.com/examinerblowup.asp?id=400&metal=1

In fact if you look into what information is avalible on there site, you will begin too understand the strength of e-gold.
http://www.e-gold.com/examiner.html

We must remember e-gold is a fiscal transport system, it should be used that way, not as a bank, ie you move value from one website to another, not let it sit in egold surfing the gold price (which is usefull some times). If you have a large amount of egold you could off load some of it too
www.1mdc.com
and from there port some of it too
http://pecunix.com/money
which is a very secure stable (but not too popular!) gold backed (egold business model style), this would at least spread the risk of your "e" money into another company if you are worried of holding too much in one place. The catch? well it would cost 5% too move it......

I followed that link. I have to admit, I'm losing confidence in e-gold.

Blocking the bad guys = good.

Blocking good guys' money, and laughing in the victim's face when he asks how he can get his money out = very bad.

If these nasty stories keep coming out, e-gold probably will start losing its customers....

I'll have to ask someone who was in IntGold. Since I wasn't in it I don't want to just do a google. Is anyone willing to send me some info or the most reliable place to find info on IntGold?

Thanks,
Sharon

Any chance of publishing an IntGold story?? I never read anything about the chance of them making (or not making) a comeback.

Some news would be appreciated.

Thank you.
