You’ve probably heard that you should contact a program, preferably the admin, before you spend. One purpose of this function is to see how fast they reply, if they reply nicely, and if they use proper English in their reply. The other purpose is to evaluate the answers and make a judgment call on whether they are lying or not.

A long time ago I saw a list of questions that you should ask, but haven’t seen a list in a while. So, here’s a list of questions for you:

    1. Who are you?
    2. Where are you located? What is your address and phone number?
    3. How long have you been running XXXX?
    4. Is XXXX registered anywhere? If yes, where and how can I contact them to verify registration?
    5. Does XXXX have a parent company? If yes, what is it?
    6. Have you run any programs in the past? If so, what are they and what happened to them?
    7. Do you have other programs running now at the same time? If yes, are they similar to XXXX? Why are you running multiple programs? Are they dependent or are they sustaining each other?
    8. Where does the revenue for the returns come from?
    9. How much experience do you have in obtaining gains from the revenue source?
    10. What happens when there are losses?
    11. What are your contingency plans to handle unforeseen problems, like server problems, hackers, etc.?
    12. How many members do you have now? How many join on in an average week?
    13. Are you able to handle a large influx of members and money in a short period of time? What are your contingency plans if you grow too fast?
    14. Are you able to handle a large drop in members and money in a short period of time? What are your contingency plans if you shrink too fast?
    15. How do you handle negative publicity and/or posts?
    16. What kind of security do you have for the site? For member’s data?
    17. Are you on a shared or dedicated server?

Also, ask about anything that is in the terms or FAQ that seems odd to you or is missing. Make sure that you understand which payment processors are used, how fast deposits start earning, when your investment is earning and matures, whether compounding is allowed, when you can withdraw, when payment can be expected, and any limitations in the program. Please remember to be respectful when asking and use “Please” and “Thank You” in your email.

Of course the administrator may lie, but refusing to answer many of the questions or replying with nasty comments is a red flag. Do you really want to trust your money with an administrator that isn’t upfront with you before you spend? An excellent administrator will answer all of the questions and has a sound business plan for growth and losses. A good one will answer most of the questions and has good contingency plans in place. You have to decide for yourself if the answers meet your own criteria for choosing a program. It’s a good idea to see if there is information out there that refutes any of the answers, too.

Asking questions is just one way of narrowing down where you entrust your money. It is in addition to your other research, such as reading every bit of fine print on the site, finding out what others are saying about them, seeing how they are rated, checking their DD information and Alexa rating, asking someone who is in it what their experience with customer service and payment has been like, etc. Don’t ever assume that because you trust Joe Schmoe and Joe says it’s good, then it must be good. Getting information from more than one source is very important.

If I’ve missed any questions, please include them in comments. I’ll update the post with the additions so that a complete list can be copied and pasted.

I’m in full agreement with Sharon. True that someone who’s friendly and answers most of your question might still scam you, but I’d prefer someone who I can talk to first.

The initial and the follow up rapport is very important to me.

      Nice List.

      Another question:
Do you have other programs running now at the same time?

      if answer is YES

Are these similar programs or which programs do you have now?
Why do you have programs running at the same time?
Is one program sustaining the other program?

      Hi Fred,

Excellent questions! I added them to the list. See 7. above.

      Thank you!
