People are always blinded by the huge returns of HYIP’s. Scammers are most often very convincing. They have a nice site layout. They give good returns. They can proof(with fake documents) they truly trade and that they are registered. Sometimes they even provide you a link to the government claiming they are registered with them(europtrade). They claim to be years old by referring to their domain(which can easily be bought).

One day some friends ask you for advise and starts asking if sites X, Y and Z are good sites to invest in. You tell your friends these sites are a piece of xxx and mention a few honest sites instead. They dont believe you and ask you to proof the sites they mention are schemes. Most of the time you cannot proof it. You can give them reasons why such site doesnt work and why you think its fake, but prooving its a scheme is a very hard thing to do.

At the same time they will trash the honest opportunities you proposed to them into little pieces. Saying the site layout is unattractive, the returns are low, they are only a couple of months old and the proof they are real aint convincing enough.

Now you are helpless. Your friends choose to invest in the scams anyways despite your good advise. Friends are supposed to trust you but instead they become blinded by the huge returns and believe these frauds instead.

A month later the sites crash. You tell them that you warned them and you hope they finally learned their lesson. You try to convince them once again to invest in the real opportunities but now they will tell you that investing online is crap, that they no longer believe in it and that they will no longer consider investing in the opportunities you proposed to them.

Once again the scammers won because they managed to lure your friends into their sites and at the same time they managed to disencourage your friends to invest in other real opportunities.

Glad that you saw the light on time :P
The good old time of GPF is far and we learned a lot since then :)

Unfortunatelly, and we both know that LYIP are also subject to troubles, it’s why gamers like Hyips, they can recover fast before the crash predictable of the program, at least they got they got their money back.

For my own future, I prefer to lose money in LYIP, but I will perform, my own DD and learning from mistakes, the DD’s become sharper and sharper.

I think it’s better to use the term LRHYIP (Low Return High Yield Investment Program) instead of LYIP. Then we can easier answer the question “Why people avoid LYIP?”. Because the risk is actually the same, time to return their seed money is 1 year or more and a lot of bad things can happen during this year. A year is a very long time frame in HYIP land.

Very true Arsen but the reasons why LYIP is the same risk as a HYIP is because the admins are greedy, liars and/or newbies. With the right honest management team, LYIP’s are less risky then HYIP’s. The key is how you know in front you invested in the right LYIP? If you are unexperienced and you cannot find the right LYIP that does work, its indeed just better to play HYIP’s and hope you pick out the right once.

Investors can redefine the industry, as long as they don’t let themselves become hyped up by every new program around the corner.

There are two types of HYIP: High Yield Investment Programs and Honest Yield Investment Programs. It is not always easy to spot the difference between the two. Also, finding the latter is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Learning to discern what is in the heart of a person and what motivates that person can make finding honest programs a lot easier.
