I think: The people You all fear havent enough power to do something with your IP, those who really want to track you (authorities for example) will be able to get you even when using a proxy ^^
Anonymity in the Internet - lol :)

IMO it's better to use a "no free" service when proxies are involved....The Open SSL (and not Open VPN) by Findnot is a good one with 31 different servers for less than 10$ monthly. You can associate it with TOR if needed.

Thank you for your kind words, Annie! I read Leo, Netzen and Mrs. Vee, too. I also read Dolphin's Wink and PonziScams daily and HYWD.info weekly.

There are ~10 others that I read regularly, but those are the best ones, IMO! Some of the others are really good, too, but there is about a 50/50 chance I'll disagree with them.

There are bloggers worthy of being read: This blog, Leo, Netzen, and Vee are my personal favorites.

I don't always agree, but that isn't in the rules. I do welcome the challenge to make me think outside the box.

HI GRestrepo,

Stick with the proxies that are recommended and you should be OK.

Here's some safety tips for you:

Don't use a proxy to access your bank or ecurrency accounts.

Use different passwords for everything.

Make all passwords a combination of letters, numbers and upper and lower case.

Never type in a password directly into your browser. Use an encrypted password saver or copy and paste.

I highly recommend Roboform for generating passwords and for saving and entering login information from an encrypted file. Firefox (and I think Opera) has a built-in password saver. Stay away from IE for everything.

Hello,
the best is tor privoxy if you want to hide your IP and surf totally anonymous: http://tor.eff.org/index.html.en (please read about this network).

You can also add a plugin to firefox and everytime you want to surf through these proxies you only have to click on the icon, or leave it disconnected.

Many people think that using a method like this one could be with bad intentions to hide the real identity (as some Hyip Admins) but that's not totally true, although I think that most of them use it.

When you surf the web you are giving a lot of data about your browser, location, etc... and also many spammers are tracing you, then you will receive a lot of spam. It's more secure using a proxy nowadays.

IF you want to go faster than tor privoxy, I recommend you to pay one proxie, sometimes I use safersurf, i like it:

http://www.privax.us is another good free website that provides surfing through proxies.

I use it to access websites that are blocked at school (like YouTube) :P
