CEP produced their first videocast at Moboking. Someone there was listening to what bloggers were saying about listening impaired and non-English speaking readers, because they also published a transcript.
As I watched the videocast, I couldn’t help but thinking that here’s yet another reason why CEP and TriStar are worlds apart from each other. While it included some cheerleading, it had a number of updates as well. First they talked about Trevor’s health and a new drink that has been helping him recover his energy. They also give updates on AS49, DSM and 4NM. In addition, they announced that a new CEP store for CEP logo products will be open soon. They also talked about the voting contest for Coasting88. They didn’t say much about a new site, PSE.
IMO, the most important part of the video, apart from health issues, was the following two topics…
They described what is most important for a Profit Share model to work. I’d say that the three key points are needed for ALL programs to work.
- Pour all of the initial profits back into the business, at least until it is self-sustaining. Then very slowly take out profits, increasing as the business grows and stabilizes.
- Have an outside income stream. Preferably, the income stream should generate all profits. At the very least, it should generate enough to bolster revenue. See an article that I wrote earlier this year.
- Develop a loyal membership base. How does one do this? See an article that I wrote last year. It isn’t rocket science, folks.
Lastly, they talked about their move to New Mexico and the status of obtaining money transmitter licensing. Here is an excerpt from the transcript:
As for the members who may be fearful due to the misinformation on the web from uneducated bloggers and others who are not familiar with the laws, all we can tell you is to stop listening to these people. If you are really concerned with what you’ve heard, look it up. There are reputable sites that have all the information one could want. The tricky part with this, is discerning which laws apply to CEP and CEP Trust. Getting the help of a qualified attorney to help with the interpretations is a good idea, though we won’t suggest paying out of pocket to hire someone. We’ve already done that, and I honestly don’t think we could have found a better, more informed attorney than Noel. She really knows her stuff, and is in no way a ‘yes man’. She tells it to Trevor like it is, regardless of how he may react to it. She is doing a fantastic job in making sure CEP and CEP Trust adhere to all the laws.
That is good news for those of us waiting to find out about the legality issue. The only part I don’t agree with is “uneducated bloggers” and “stop listening to these people.” I actually had to laugh! None of us ever claimed to be lawyers, however what we did was go out to the state websites and read the laws. Curt, PonziScams, went so far as to talk to an official at an office that issues money transmitter licenses. Next we raised the issue and let you, our readers, know what we found. When I read the CEP forum about this issue, the first post was a link back to an article here about the legality of CEPTrust. So, it’s safe to assume that we brought the issue to the forefront.
I must say that after following the two giants, CEP and TriStar, the differences are growing wider. My respect for CEP is growing. My disdain of TriStar is growing even faster.

I agree with you Sharon, on the “uneducated bloggers” statement … it’s not the first time they’ve said that …. but a lot of people brought the issue to the forefront so more awareness grew from there …
Props to CEP for providing a written transcript. Good to know they listen out there
Good update …
Thanks for posting it!

You’re right Dolphin!
Now that I re-read the “we” brought it to the forefront, it looks like I’m just saying NoBS. I really meant bloggers, which includes posters everywhere. It wasn’t just the post here. It was posts many places.
Thanks for clarifying that statement.
JMO,
Sharon
LOL .. I wasn’t implying you meant NoBS bloggers … that didn’t even occur to me when I read your post originally … it’s a given to me that you meant that in general and including everyone, blogs and forums alike …
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend …

Just wanted to say that when we referenced the bloggers, we referenced the ones that were trying to do nothing but harm CEPT. Not all of the bloggers have done that. We should have clarified that better. But it is very important that people look things up and not just take what is written as “Gold.” Many people do not understand the importance of that. We have no problem at all with questions or issues being brought up but what we don’t appreciate are those that try to slam dunk. I am sure that you understand that.
Stay tuned to the next newscast. If there are things that you would like to hear about, please post your questions on the Coastin 88 forum in the following thread http://www.coastin88.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1082.
We appreciate your input.

Hi Skye,
Thank you for an informative videocast and for stopping by here. I appreciate your clarifications. I always try to stress that people should use multiple resources before forming an opinion.
From allowing your forums to be open to public view and actually answering or trying to answer concerns, it is easy to see that CEP is listening. I am not a member, but I am sure that members appreciate that you don’t shut down or delete posted concerns. CEP’s openness is yet another thing that set you apart.
I’m looking forward to the next newscast and appreciate the direction of where to post questions. I believe that the biggest question is still the legality issue. However, I also understand that it takes time to develop the proper answer. Whether CEPTrust is legal or not will solidify or break it, IMO.
Thank you,
Sharon
this is just magnific and very healthy joy to everyone
