Thanks for your article and for your emal response!  

For everyone else: I asked Mark what he included as a "digital currency" and his definition makes sense.  The easiest way to spell it out is to compare the three types of entities that have anything to do with e-currencies:

Digital Currency (e-currency): They issue "currency", but don't sell or buy it themselves.  Examples are e-gold, e-bullion and 1mdc.

Exchangers: They buy and sell e-currencies, but don't do other types of transactions.

Payment Processors: They do transactions between people, banks, businesses, etc.  They may also offer an exchange service.  Examples are PayPal, CEPTrust and AlertPay.

Only the digital currencies do not meet the definition of an MSB.  Exchangers and payment processors do meet the definition.
