I originally posted this at HYIPRanks, but thought I’d reproduce it here as a post, if Jude gives the OK, of course:
This is no doubt a contentious thing to say, but I don’t think that Andy is an out-and-out scammer. Rather, I think that he was and is well-intentioned, after a fashion; but, when he found himself in a lose-lose scenario where much of his own time and money would be required to stage a slow-but-sure recovery for TFT (and perhaps XLO, as well), he opted to cut all ties (the Forward Thinking episode aside), quelling any sense of moral responsibility or obligation by a to-the-letter appeal to the terms of the program. Now that some dust has settled on the TFT and XLO threads - which coincided with time spent locating, researching and testing what appears to be a promising forex system - it must seem a good time to renew his serially abortive attempt to come up with a viable plan B.
In a way, then, I think Andy is trying to make good on what he spoke so often about after TFT fell apart. Sending an e-mail to those in TFT who expressed interest previously about a follow-up program seems to support that view. But then, as usual, things aren’t that simple. If this were a real and equitable attempt at providing a means of recovery for those in TFT, that e-mail would’ve gone out to the entire former TFT membership; a list that was, inexplicably, but perhaps conveniently, deleted: “I emailed nowhere near everyone who had asked previously [about a new opportunity] - not because I had anything against you - but more because the db was deleted and email addresses were lost” (per Andy at the new program forum).
Whatever the conscious motive or half-conscious negligence behind jettisoning the database - and note that I am not presuming one way or the other - Andy is plainly concerned with establishing a clean break between TFT and the new program, stating that he will tolerate very little discussion of TFT and making no systematic effort at restitution through the new program for those who lost in the former.
Sure, there was the letter of the terms, but when it came down to it, most everyone set the terms aside for the technicality they are always viewed as, counting instead on the spirit of the program, which was the heretofore umblemished integrity of Andy himself, who had run an autosurf known for its longevity and consistency. Andy used the integrity part to his advantage during the honeymooning period, while hedging his position with the occasional token admonition to the obviously heedless, starry-eyed membership about remembering “there are no guarantees”. Then, when the bottom was falling out (or was depicted as falling out), Andy bailed on the integrity part out of apparent necessity, violating the spirit of the program to take refuge in the letter of the terms. Well, nothing new there. And with that, the decisive nail in the proverbial coffin was driven. TFT members, hopeful as they were, in their turn, of a reincarnation of GoldenRocks, were speedily brought back to earth, their account balances burning up over the atmosphere, clocking in upon landing as a dismembered husk all-but-DOA at 3%.
All muddied water under the bridge, perhaps - at least it was until the guy at the head of the TFT spaceship sent it screaming to the ground, sold his autosurf down the river to a two-bit hack of a businessman while pocketing a pretty penny on the deal, hemmed and hawed over staging a comeback for his forlorn membership, then blinked off of the HYIP grid, and then (I know: take a breath, Andrew) reappeared with a semi-private program - backed by his own wet-behind-the-ears trading activity, no less - that makes no provision for resolving the loose ends with TFT and has a forum where “little (no) patience” will be extended to those who want to discuss those loose ends. If you aren’t aghast at that progression of events, stop reading now and put your head back in the sand.
Sweet memories of TFT and XLO in 2006 cannot - well, should not - run that gauntlet and come out alive. On balance, Andy did quite well running XLO, the low-ROI, instantaneously paying surf that eclipsed the one year mark. No mean feat, to be sure. But, real success in this alternative moneymaking arena, historically, has been contingent on and based in the Admin developing a cult of personality. Andy did that and did it well; but in the end, he tore down the altars and high places built in his honor by conducting himself as a common scammer with a modicum of conscience would. The mystique is gone, Andy the heir apparent to the HYIP high priesthood defrocked. Those in profit, those who enjoy a sordid game of chance and those without frontal lobes will look past this, but for most, the damage done is irreparable. Too bad Andy didn’t create an alter-ego and start up another TFT-like program; “investors” are always suckers for charismatic Admins and the monetary panaceas they boast of creating. I guess his conscience - or his by now notorious lack of foresight - got him in the end.

Andrew - congratulations. that was a very articulate and incisive article and I totally agree with you. You really would need to be a harbitten gambler to think of touching this latest offerring of Andys
I am always amazed at the audacity of people who think that they are going to become the next Wall Street trading stars because they have successfully papertraded for a few weeks and now think that they should take control of YOUR money.
Its not the glamour would that some would have you or I to think. Its darned hard work to learn. Its fun. Its rewarding. But it isn’t heaven. Consistency is the key. And trading success of at least a year gives the experience of a variety of markets…as markets do change.
Good luck to all who gamble in this one!
One of the finest analyses I’ve ever read of the HYIP mentality and the life cycle of a cult.
It’s true Andy may have forever lost a huge chunk of his fan base but there’s an endless supply of uninitiated noobs from which to rebuild it.
As long as CEP is around, I will not let my money lost to Andy again
What else is there to add. Nice post.
You are right Annie. Here is a reply for you
Infinityshares is a perfect example as how rough it actually is to trade. They thought lets take a broker, trade and make everyone a good profit.
Well…They are now changing broker for the second time already in ONLY a year time, they suffered a very bad loss around november(which almost lead to the end of the program, but with a lot of hard efforts and aggressive trading, they managed to recover), they had trouble keeping up trading when Chris dad got sick and Chris couldnt be online anymore and many more problems.
Yes, I know I am an IS supporter, but thats irrelevant here. It are just plain facts traders who dont hide a thing(like IS), will have to admit at some point in time that they are facing problems(sometimes minor, something serious) and obstables and that they continously have to work very hard to make sure no funds of their members are lost in cyberspace or trading losses.
Because let’s face it. How many trading programs are lasting over a year right now? 5 out of 1000? If that. Trading is underestimated.
How many times do we say a trader bragging : “HAHAHA! These traders working for these idiotic hyip program are LOOSERS! I rag up 50% profit daily for over a year now NON STOP while these suckers cant even get 5% a month!” … and a bit later these braggers decide to run their own program and everyone jumps ship…
How many of those braggers would still rag up that much profit without going down under you think? NONE OF THEM. They cannot even perform 10% monthly anymore without whiping out their entire account.
I would have liked to join this discussion if he and that guy from 9planetsurf was safely locked in an high security prison.
By giving free publicity to this crooked people we are indirectly promoting their crooked ventures.
he’s a bum, I hope he gets crushed
Does he thinks that we will believe a word he says after he screws us up in XLO and TFT ? !
andy, please do us a favour - GET LOST and RETIRE from the scene.
Man…. doesn’t he knows what SHAME is ? Or is he SO SCREW UP that he thinks it is normal for him to come back again and again to open up programs - to scam and steal from us again and again ? !
andy - wake up ! You are a NO BODY !
We have totally lost our trust and respect for you. BECAUSE you are a THIEF ! ! !
Real nice article andrew, haven’t seen you for ages! How’re you!
