Has anyone gotten this one from E-gold and can’t access your account?
The IP you are using to access the e-gold website (x.x.x.x) appears on DNS blacklist(s) as being either an open proxy or otherwise exploited.
You will not be permitted to access e-gold services from this IP while the DNS blacklist record(s) remain active. Your first order of business should be to make sure that you are computing securely. Please read and implement e-gold’s Security Recommendations. After you have resolved any security issues, you are then ready to take steps to get your IP removed from DNS blacklist(s).

It’s trouble some to work things around since I have to connect to another VPN to access my account. Anyone facing the same experience?

Yes, this has been reported by several overseas clients during the past week or so. The guy who posted this to a private email list was shocked that it occurred and thought at the time it was a function of the DDOS protection because it was right after that last attack he was blocked. He thought it was prolexic blocking, but you say its e-gold or you think its the e-gold server?
I’m not sure but it started right after that last DDOS attack.

hm, I don’t have this problem and can still login without problems
I am trying to help a member of my forum about this issue, he has this problem and I removed his IP from one of those list, but he can not access to e-gold yet.
He has a fixed IP.
Some of the findnot proxy ips are blocked as well, and I’m currently using one of the proxy services to login into E-gold to avoid the problem.
It’s cumbersome but still have to be done. Let me know if anyone else is facing this problem so I could write a tutorial about it on how to log in.
Nothing wrong to access your account from a proxy. They wouldnt block your account if you’re accessing it from any other different places, theoretically speaking.
I’m also experiencing the same problem and it’s been over a day now. My knowledge of computers is very limited and I’m finding it difficult to solve the problem. Can someone please help.
I am behind a proxy all the time, simply because of the fact my ISP logs me on the net through a proxy.
Jose, are you using a paid proxy or a free one?
I’m a bit lost here. What’s a proxy?
Telson, i’ll write a tutorial for you once Jose lets me know which proxy did he use.
I’m using a paid one, so it might not be so fun to just pay for a service just to access your EG account.
I am also having this problem, it state that it was because I had use open proxy, (which I had used firefox-proxy foxy). I had try and successfully remove my block IP list and manage to access my E-gold account yesterday. But guess what today I had been block again.
Hope you guys can post any successful method.
This is gonna be a problem with Singapore users that accesses E-gold since most of Singnet users are using dynamic IPs instead of a static one.
Here is the actual indictment from the Department of Justice regarding all of this. For some reason, I can’t get it to link. Please copy and place on your browser. Very interesting.

this has nothing to do with the indictment this has to do with this:
” e-gold Blocks Account Logins From Exploited Computers
MELBOURNE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–e-gold Users now have additional protection against “phishing attacks”, thanks to a ground breaking upgrade to its Account Sentinelâ„¢ (a.k.a. AccSent(tm)) arsenal of account access security features.
Using DNS blacklist data published by well known third parties, AccSent now blocks account access from IPs identified as open proxies, insecure web servers, or otherwise open to exploitation by criminals. For the sake of brevity, e-gold refers to such blacklisted IPs as “blips”.
As always, the AccSent advantage is that e-gold Users need not take any action - or even understand what an IP address, an open proxy, or a phishing attack is - to immediately benefit from this innovative new feature. However, as powerful as AccSent is, the best protection against phishing and other criminal attacks is user education. For this reason e-gold urges its Users to carefully read and practice the Security Recommendations published on the e-gold.com website.
According to the Wikipedia.org article entitled “Open Proxy”: “It is possible for a computer to be running an open proxy server without knowledge of the computer’s owner. This can be the result of mis-configuration of proxy software running on the computer, or of infection with malware (viruses, trojans or worms) designed for this purpose.”
“e-gold account access from open proxies is not in the best interest of the e-gold community - whether that access is from the unwitting owner of an exploited computer or from a criminal using an exploited computer as a proxy to hide his own identity,” says Dr. Douglas Jackson, e-gold Founder. “
I was blocked on one ip address, so tried another pay processor, it worked fine. Noticed I use more than one ip address, so closed computer down and restarted. Different ip address and egold worked fine from that.
I’m using dynamic IP and can’t login to my e-gold acc. ’til now
BASIC QUESTION: May 12, 2007
May 9th I transfered gold (9.56 oz) from my egold acct to the account of GoldThrift (119890) expecting a wire transfer to be made to my bank account. Will it be made? Or can it be made?
Sorry Madmunk, what’s your question again?
QUESTION: Do I have any hope of seeing the wire transfer I am expecting : On May 9th 2007 I transfered gold (9.56 oz) from my egold acct to the account of GoldThrift (119890)hoping to see money wired from GoldThrift into my bank account.
Gold Thrift’s 1-888-448-5657 just say’s in a sweet robotic voice the single word “Goodbye” — before it even rings. Not too reassuring.
Have you tried contacting them? Have they responded?
Tried their “service@gold-thrift.com” four or five times with no response in addition to their “goodbye” phone number. Too clever.
See their contact page at:

I used “The Davis Company” about five years ago to fund the account and logged ont the same URL to cash a bit out. It switched me to Gold Thrift which might be ok enough because the FAX numbers and egold account numbers (Davis company -Gold Thrift) are the same and their pages are identical.
I was also denied access to my account with the same above mentioned response. I checked my IP address on a blacklist service..and it was on the list. The people got back to me to help, but in the meantime I contacted my service provider and they changed my ip address. I can not log on, no problem.
Same problem here with static IP.
Jude, could you publish the tutorial? I’m from Malaysia and often get that message as well. I try to disconnect and connect again. Used to work but now it doesn’t work. Thank you.
I could, but there’s possibility that E-gold will block the available method. I’d suggest you to take a look at our Nobsnetwork forum on the current easiest method to access E-gold.
