We do not know what the outcome of e-gold will be. It will take a while for the indictment to be processed and either cleared or justified (innocent or guilty.) Speculation helps the soul as you get your opinions off your chest. However, it is prudent to not panic and to wait for an actual outcome. If you are very worried, then move your funds out of e-gold.

In the meantime, there are programs and payment processors dropping e-gold, due to the indictment. They are not taking any chances. Preventative measures can be viewed as good or bad, but are still no reason to panic. Each person, including administrators, have to decide their own comfort level.

So, this thread is for listing programs /payment processors that have officially dropped e-gold. I’ll get the list started. Please add to it as you get your email notifications.

Sharon, the CEP sites have also dropped e-gold like a hot potato. Take that for what its worth. :)

Agree 100% with your viewpoint Sharon. Be alert, but to go in the panicking mode at this stage will be a lose, lose situation for all the role players.

However this latest Egold developments just show again how dangerous and unpredictable the surfing/hyip world can be.

All the members reporting on the different forums are indicating that they do normally business via Egold . Trust that this will be the norm. Personally I also upgraded my Planet-Trust account earlier via Egold without any problem.

I think people and programs which have a need in egold because of their business models (scams, several exchangers) will not drop it until it is too late.

I don’t think that eGold will come out any good from this indictment.

Gold Pouch Express announced they are relocating.

I assume it’s related to the e-gold mess, but I thought they were already in Canada. I don’t know how much cooperation Canada is providing, or if the relocation is related to the e-gold indictment.

I’m interested to see what, if anything happens with Rayservers and eForexGold. I’m entertaining dividing future deposits between pecunix and eBullion.

I haven’t seen any exchanger announce they are dropping e-gold. Most are probably still taking the wait-and-see attitude, which is the most prudent.

My speculation is that if the indictment holds on Monday, the Trustees of ‘The e-gold Bullion Reserve Special Purpose Trust’ and the attorneys in Nevis will pull the plug on Gold & Silver Reserve and Omni Pay, and reinstate e-gold offshore with different service providers. Monday should be interesting.

AlertPay has now stopped any egold transactions through their site.

It’s good to see some level headed commentary on this blog as it seems that any sniff of government intervention condemns egold before any evidence is made public.
I hope the speculation that inevitably arises in situations like this will be viewed critically by all those who read it and not taken as fact (although on previous evidence I’m not that hopeful).
It is sensible to prepare oneself for all eventualities so it’s probably wise to limit the amount of funds in egold (although most reference is to 1mdc so even I’m perhaps pre-judging) so that in a worst case scenario you shouldn’t be too badly impacted.
The one thing that concerns somewhat though is where many programs will not payout to an alternative account from the one money was invested from. I’m waiting to see how this develops over the short term.
I was looking to write a post myself where egold is mentioned so I’d like to include a link here if that’s okay?
