With the recent indictments of E-gold, you see ponzi games (which we fondly know as HYIPs maybe a year back or two) then crumbling down like sandcastles being washed away by the sea. For those who’ve really been digging at HYIPs for the past 4 years, you’ve seen all the ups and downs of ponzis, you’ve dabbled in surf games and money cyclers, and you do see these High yield investment programs (ponzi based) still evolving daily. There’ll always be the next SolidInvestment around, sucking up investors’ funds (we have the recent Please-Invest to prove it)

We came pretty far and grown smarter, identifying games from real investment opportunities. And yet, still some smart alec in opportunities will try to smoulder the money once the funds grow big in size and blame it on the hackers.

So is this HYIP ventures really dying?

    Not really.

We will always have capitalists who’re raising funds through the HYIP channel, and genuine opportunities might still pop up from time to time. Real proper verifications must still be done, and regular audits if it’s possible. There are still very good ones that’s on top of my head and they are definitely finding all means to protect themselves as well as investors funds, growing them in a steady manner.

No more 3-5% guaranteed returns a day shit, everyone has really got to wake up before they lose everything. Unless you’re a fantastic trader yourself, or you do niche business on your own, you can’t find such honest returns in the HYIP arena.

Look around, read more, ask around, do more research. Thinks of the pros and cons before putting in money into any ventures. HYIP for me is a starting ground and still a good ground before I transit to do trading full time in forex.

Unless you find genuine opportunities, chances are, you will never make money in the long run.

You know the really sad thing about the whole “HYIP” world it that name is a real honest type of investment. It simply means (as you all know) High Yield Investment Program. With the current state of banks, most paying a mere 3 or 4% per YEAR it does not take much for something to a legit HYIP. The big issues is that so many of the previous scams and ponzis used the HYIP term for what they were doing thereby perverting the usage of the word.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of legit HYIPs running all over the world this very second. The problem is that too many people online see a program that is earning 5% a month and say oh that’s too low. They seem conditioned to be looking for a scam and aren’t able to open their eyes to a worthwhile investment when it comes along.

5% per MONTH? Yeah.. that’s right 60% per year on your money. The only reason it doesn’t sound so great to you is if you don’t have realistic expectations about what can and can’t be done.

Hopefully with all the Egold issues and the amount of money lost to these fly by night operators people will finally start to wise up and take off their blinders and start to see that hey anything under 10% a month is actually a very very good return and likely one that can be sustained over the long run and it sure is a place I want to put my money. Then we can finally take “back” the HYIP from all those sleezeballs.

      Thanks,

No, it isn’t dieing. All you have to do is go to Talk Gold and Talk HYIPs forums to see that.

Hell, people are still putting their money into the second round in Please-Invest!

“Get Rick Quick” will never die. It may be HYIP or something else, but it will be.

I think that we will see little by little all the HYIP,s moving to private, but I don’t think that they are dying. There are a lot of other e-currencies out there to continue their “business”.

That Please-Invest thing is really irking me. People have just got to listen or think.

I think that we will see little by little all the HYIP,s moving to private.

Only real honest sites can go private. The rest simply needs to be feeded by fresh money from the general public.

With the recent government actions its easier to figure out which sites are the real thing and which are ponzi’s or “hidden ponzi’s”. The latter two simply has it tougher to survive now.

To be honest, the sites that arent suffering and slowly dying from the latest government actions, can be count on one single hand(as a matter of speaking). But thats pretty normal. Real sites are rare these days.

“”"There are hundreds, if not thousands of legit HYIPs running all over the world this very second.”"”

      …..hmmmmm

It will be good if e-gold can cut them out finally.

Ponzi scams were not invented by the Internet and they will always be around, I think the best thing for the public is education and more blogs like this.

Well, I’d like to play devils advocate here and suggest what is wrong with a ponzi provided everyone recognizes it as such and is willing to play (or pay) into it. Surely, folks can make money. Ok some or a lot will lose. Providing everyone sees it as a game and treats it as such then sobeit.

Can you think of worse entertainments?

How about gambolling (ok not financial markets … right)

Can you think of worse ponzi systems?

      Paying taxes
      Insurance

erm… erm… well the list of what is a ponzi can go on and on…
