Loom MoneyWhen money became digital, it also became much more complex. Conventional banking and legacy payments do not mix well with credit card fraud and identity theft.

Egold filed a motion for an evidentiary hearing. Read the motion here. For those that aren’t sure what an evidentiary hearing is, you can read the wikipedia definition here. In addition, they asked the Court to vacate (remove) the seizure warrant and modify the post-indictment restraining order. I know that people don’t like to read legal documents, but this one is good. In the introduction they call the government’s actions draconian!

NSFG continues to disappoint everyone unlucky still be with them. (Jude was wise to get out last year. I’m sorry that I didn’t take his advice at the time.) They are freezing deposits and withdrawals due to egold exchange problems. In addition, their trading strategy posted a loss once again. Normally a month with a small loss would be no big deal. However, with NSFG’s history any month with a loss is just another blow to those of us that still have funds with them. On a brighter note, they are open to suggestions! Here is their update…

When most Internet users think of digital currency they are picturing a Bank of America ‘online banking’ account or a PayPal account. Both of these prehistoric versions of electronic money helped to revolutionize the way our world handles e-commerce.

However, if you are ‘old school’ or just an ‘old fart’ like I am, digital currency memories bring up thoughts of that original Webmoney Keeper software from years ago still installed on my laptop or learning how to access my first Pecunix account. I was using e-gold digital gold currency almost a decade ago when the account numbers were still under 250,000 and of course they are now over 4 million. That won’t mean much to those of you who pay your electric bill via Bank of America online, but to those who remember placing that x.com referral link on your web way back when…..a low e-gold account number still holds a bit of nostalgia.

Unlike ‘Online Banking‘ or ‘Online Payment Systems’ digital currencies operate outside of conventional banking operations. Digital currency is not a part of the federally regulated banking alliance in the US or pretty much any other country. Instead, digital currency provides global commerce solutions to people who may not even have a bank account or live in a country yet conquered by PayPal. This new and innovative payment method provides a great addition to regular banking channels. This is especially true with Webmoney which has become very incorporated into daily life around Russia and other parts of the world. You don’t have to go online with the bank to pay your bills, Webmoney lets you do it without a bank.

Its very obvious that when JF was not released for the public yet, Arnaud(the owner) generated some very nice returns with a +71% profit peek in february 2006. Then he decided to open his program to the public around april of that same year.

An official press release from Malaysia Security Commissions on blocking illegal investment scheme sites starting on the 11th of June 07. End of Swisscash? lol.

But you know none of such blocking can completely stop every Malaysians from still accessing and investing in illegal investment schemes though.

With the recent indictments of E-gold, you see ponzi games (which we fondly know as HYIPs maybe a year back or two) then crumbling down like sandcastles being washed away by the sea. For those who’ve really been digging at HYIPs for the past 4 years, you’ve seen all the ups and downs of ponzis, you’ve dabbled in surf games and money cyclers, and you do see these High yield investment programs (ponzi based) still evolving daily. There’ll always be the next SolidInvestment around, sucking up investors’ funds (we have the recent Please-Invest to prove it)

We came pretty far and grown smarter, identifying games from real investment opportunities. And yet, still some smart alec in opportunities will try to smoulder the money once the funds grow big in size and blame it on the hackers.

So is this HYIP ventures really dying?

Thanks to Jose for the recommendation on NoPonzi Blog. Check out his post here on this free open source data encryption software, TrueCrypt.

If anyone’s a tech geek, TrueCrypt uses SHA-1, Whirlpool or RIPEMD-160 as hash algorithm for encryption. Yeap, and it supports Linux, XP and Vista as well.

Here’s an update from E-forexgold, which will be temporarily suspending E-gold outexchange,

Effective May 25th we had to temporarily suspend all e-gold out exchanges. We expect to resume normal operations with e-gold soon. E-gold’s “in-house” exchanger, OMNIPay, has closed the office, at this stage until June 18th, due to change of bank accounts. As a market maker we rely heavily on OMNIpay to redeem any extra e-gold. Since OMNIpay is temporarily unable to provide the service, we also were forced to suspend e-gold out exchanges. We do hope that everything will be aback to normal very soon.

Infinity Shares came back with a -1.43% loss, on NFP trading yesterday.

Personally I had a short position on GBPUSD as well, since the fundamentals and technicals were pointing towards that direction. It backfired with a loss of -45 pips.

Nothing to worry about though. Glad to know that they’re back in action :) Good days ahead.

    Good day,
