I’ve been pondering much on whether to continue to introduce genuine investment programs and not violating the thin line of having the administrators cheat our readers or even members. It’s tough.

For a year or so, we see programs coming up and clashing down like nobody’s business (FX-Experts, Global Mutual, Solid Investment for being pure ponzi and turning into a giant scam, Surfs like GCISurf and all). We’ve seen more casualties than winners altogether. And if you notice too, the contents on HYIPs are getting dryer an dryer by days. What’s more discouraging are arguments and flaming against readers on trivial matters and works like Legisi, Global Pension Plan (Heard they’re reaching their target real soon) and all.

    We're restructuring for the better

We’ve touched on this before but still I have to bring it up again. This blog will be restructured. We will still serve HYIP warnings. Administrators of genuine business opportunities can still contact me for verifications and reviews if it is viable and beneficial to our readers. As you notice, we haven’t been mentioning much about the games that MMG, MOG are advertising and introducing. I haven’t been following up with them myself since I’m busy with keeping up on personal forex trading, learning the ropes of affiliate marketing and pay per click publications online to make a decent income off the internet.

Jude will still be around, along with many good no bullshit blog authors (sharonsopinion, opie9999, Mark and more). More money making online tips, less HYIP games, more HYIP genuine opportunities, genuine investment opportunities (Mutual Funds, investment tools), forex tutorials, useful book reviews and even more.

I noticed that the blog according to quite a few people isn’t loading properly at all. We will be changing to a newer, simple and faster layout within the week or so. It will be really simple, so I’d encourage you to subscribe to our RSS to reap all the benefits.

Let’s work together. If you have anything to suggest, I’m all ears via Comments or even email.

Restructuring is necessary and the industry has been a roller coaster ride over the past 12months. Those who lost interest in ponzi games will have to identify their new direction and it will be beneficial if restructuring is geared towards that direction. There are still many money making opportunities out there that was overshadowed by the hyip craze, it is time to bring them back.

I would agree. That’s why I’ve been creating a poll to check on whether our readers are interested to learn on skills to make money online or rather just to invest and earn passive income. The results? Both almost level!

      We’ll be covering both.

    3. Gravatar Icon 3 makila

Not all hyips that scam are ponzi’s.

Suppose you have worked very hard, builded up a 1 million $ capital and the total amount owned to members is around 0.9 million. You are able to pay everyone a full refund, close the site and move on….very nice eh?

But now lets assume you are that stinky admin. Wouldnt it be easier even tough you could refund everyone, to just pack your bags, give no refunds at all and grab the whole million $ instead??? It would make you rich, while if you refund everyone, you would be just that normal “guy”

Its hard to create a real program and stay honest down the road. But its a lot harder to stay honest when you are retiring/closing down.

I can only support the move. HYIP sucks.
I am thinking in the same direction, just not 100% ready to remove all the HYIP crap because of the readers who are interested in it

The myth of easy money and instant wealth remains a myth.
      There is no such thing.

I look forward to the restructure and the change
of focus to REAL and legitimate ways to earn online.

Lol…will you be changing the “hyip” part of the domain
      name as well?

That’s the problem Jude (hehe), I will be risking the SEO done since gazillion months back. But if it has to be done, it will be done. Let me think what’s the best way to fix this problem.

The myth of easy money and instant wealth remains a myth.
      There is no such thing.

I am in 3 real opportunities. The average I get each month is between 2 and 5% monthly. That means I double my money every 2 YEARS. This is a lot of money, yup sure, but it doesnt make me rich quickly. Thats indeed a myth.

When I started investing in real opportunities online rather than the standard hyip games, I expected a return of 5-6% monthly. ALAS in reality I *maybe* reach half of that target IF THAT. In good months YES I reach that target, but sadly with real opportunities you have lesser months, sometimes even negative numbers. Thats the reality check that I stumbled on.

Yes, I really would like to see very little in the way of HYIP’s if at all.

I spent a while in it did fairly well and probably better than most. It only takes a couple of losses but more importantly when you realize you are doing well in the HYIP arena that there will be people that will totally lose their shirts. I have been on both sides. It finally came down to a personal decision - do I really want to be making money off of programs where there are only winners and losers thus becoming a larger question I won’t get into here - but that moved me on to greener pastures.

I know of myself and several others that finally left the HYIP arena in the last several months. I really don’t keep with anything except this blog because of the other opportunities and education that are becoming more prevalent here.

As an ex high stakes HYIP ‘player’ my recommendation to anyone is to simply walk away. I for one am really looking forward to the changes here because of my respect for Jude and what he brings to the table.

I don’t mind joining hyips of which I think are real and where there are no loosers. But so far in the last 2 years I have only seen one that called it “quit” and left the business, did in fact refund everyone 100% and that was Simon Pink(maybe they were more but I cannot think of anyone else). All the rest, good, bad, ugly, ponzi or real all committed fraud and left us in the cold.

Of those programs still running right now, I only see Infinityshares and “maybe” lifeholdings refund us 100%(minus fees) if they would call it “quit”. There may be more that would do it, but facts are 100% of hyips so far cease to exist after some time and 99.99999999999999999% never refund us in FULL.

That post encapsulates the direction the blog - administrator, posters, readers, commenters - has been moving in for a while now, a transition for which I have nothing but praise. Robert put it well - for myself as well as many others, I’m sure - when he said “I really don’t keep with anything except this blog because of the other opportunities and education that are becoming more prevalent here”. I think this blog has not only logged the day-to-day goings-on in the world of HYI but also the development of a narrow - not exclusive, but not populous - swath of the HYIP/surf community into a relatively mature group of thoughtful and capable individuals, putting off what is questionable or dubious - in terms of both profit potential and ethics - in favor of sound, effective means of making money online in the short- and long-term.

Looking back over the past several years, a number of forum/blog/board/program/club/group/list adminstrators/organizers have tried, in one way or another, to move on from the HYIP arena while taking a body of investors with them. I need not mention examples because they are plentiful and easily recalled. Something always goes amiss, though, and those efforts fail.
But, things here - post content and people - have grown on their own - unforced and without greed as the overarching motivation - and now the results of that transition are becoming tangible.

I’m awed by Robert and andrew for such flattering praise, I don’t really deserve all these.

What I’ll be focusing personally on the blog is to start on affiliate marketing like what Leo is doing, teach a little on monetization of sites (like many others too, simply it becomes that we’re losing niche because we’re doing common stuffs), and forex trading.

I’m sure many of our blog authors have their own niche and are willing to share interesting facts and news of the financial/ investment sector. Just look at alan, our new blog author who just posted the video about Money, I find that really interesting.

We’ll see how it goes, the reform must be done, the direction is still a little hazy, but this blog goes on with the support and love from the readers we have.

Going away from “hyips” doesn’t bother me at all, as long as you don’t just “go away!”. I really enjoy reading the intelligent and insightful posts on here and would miss them. As regards hyips, I’ve phased them out of my life in the past month or two - or rather, they’ve phased me out! The only one left is Opentrade and thats simply because I can’t take anything out of there until December. At least I’ve gotten my principal back from there.

In my hyip experience, I’ve probably broken even on around 35%, made money on around 15% and lost all or something on all the rest. I’m assuming my experience is pretty typical of all, and know that this is no real way to ever get ahead of where I am now, on a financial OR psychological level.

The hyip arena is dirty, and there are really gangsters or gangster wannabees involved despite the fact that there may be a few legitimate people running some programs. I’ve been threatened in past months by errant program heads with identity theft and physical harm for simply stating my honest opinion, and I don’t personally want to be in a place that uses that type of method to attempt to prolong their programs.

Move on NBB, and move us away from that ugly place! I’m glad to know there are a few areas I can come to online, with honest assessments and opinions - even if I may not always agree with them, and this is one of those places.

Good luck and good investing :)

I’ve recently made the decision to discontinue my PTS blog and focus
exclusively on my business with the Online Business Alliance [OBA].

I will still invest in a few pts sites where I think the admin is honest
and competent, and one or two selected hyips that so far have been
good to me, but I will no longer advertise or refer people to these.

At OBA, we sell digital products and lease advertising spaces. It’s not
everybody’s cup of tea, but it works for me. And like here at nobs,
the community there is loyal, strong and supportive.

It’s a slower build, for sure, but it’s wonderful to be dealing with honest,
ethical people..working together to build something REAL. I’ve been
moving in this direction for over a year now…and I’m one of the
lucky ones who has managed to keep in profit. Still, it’s time to stop swimming with the sharks and build something worthwhile for the future.

Well I stepped aside from real hyips more than a year ago. I decided to join medium and long term investment sites. So far I joined 4 programs.
One of them was 4 years old and looked like the real thing. 4 weeks later : Big shock number one. The 4 year old program crashed barely 4 weeks after I invested in there! Refund : 5%. Luckily I just started there with a test spend, and only lost 11% of my capital.

This was really frustrating. I just left the hyip field and invested in real opportunities(or so I thought) and after one month I was already scammed by a program that had major DD, and I immidiatly started at a significant loss and had to play catch up game right away.

    15. Gravatar Icon 15 makila

To answer the question : “Are you in profit or in loss Makila?”
For me this is hard to answer. I would say currently its undetermined.

I am in a loss right now, but 4 out of 5 programs I joined are still going. One program locks your initial and then pays you back the money you lend to them, they paid back 80% now, 20% to go. And 2 programs I joined, are very long term. This means you invest 100%, this money is locked for a couple months and then they pay you out with a profit.

Nice move there, Jude. That’s the direction we also took in our site after we became fed up with all the HYIPs and scams. Good luck in your new venture.
