Yahoo Messenger This is tad irritating and I just found out the way to get it fixed. Apart from Yahoo Messenger (I think MSN Messenger’s default browser cannot be fixed at all unless you are using MSN Plus!, an Add-on program).

Problem: Yahoo Messenger keeps opening Internet Explorer for mails and other links even though Firefox is the default browser.

Solution: Set Firefox to default browser on your Vista with the following steps.

    1. Click on Start -> Go to Default Program
    2. Set Program Access and Computer Defaults, ‘Continue’
    3. Expand Custom on the arrow pointing down
    4. Under ‘choose a default browser’, bullet on Mozilla Firefox, ‘Ok’

    Fixing Firefox with Yahoo Messenger

    You’re done!

If you are not able to see Mozilla Firefox under choose a default browser, reinstall Firefox by getting the file
. It should appear after reinstalling.
