Lately the hot topic has been the legality of money transmitters in the USA. The spotlight has been on CEPTrust and TriStar Money Changers (TSMC). I already reported that Trevor Reed, CEPTrust, is waiting for an answer from his new NY lawyer and that Bobby Krimm is stomping on anyone that dares to ask about the issue. PayPal, located in California, answered the licensing issue long ago by obtaining licenses in all states that requires one, as well as licensing in Canada and in the UK. (Note: MrsVee had an article a couple of weeks ago with links to two 2002 articles about PayPal, which are outdated and no longer applicable. It’s not like her to have outdated information.)

All of this got me thinking about other Payment Processors, like SolidTrustPay and AlertPay, which are located in Canada. Canadian and US justice systems support each other. Sometimes their laws are applicable to both countries. With all of the new questions about the legality of payment processors, I decided to search for an answer concerning SolidTrustPay. All that I found was the outstanding interview by Zen. (See The ZenDen interview here. Zen will be sorely missed as a blogger and interviewer!) Zen asked the legality question, but their answer only pertained to Canadian law. So, I wrote to SolidTrustPay. (Dolphin, The Dolphin’s Wink, helped me with the communication. Thanks, Dolphin!)

    Here is their reply…

I went to The ZenDen to read his latest articles. Much to everyone’s dismay, Zen announced that he is leaving blogging. He’s fed up and who can blame him! It is very sad news for the HYI community. The silver-lining in this dark cloud news is that he’s moving on to better things for himself. Please head over to The ZenDen to wish him well and to let him know how much he’ll be missed.

    The saga continues…

In my last article Ad Daily Network pleaded to get their funds in TriStar Money Changers (TSMC) unblocked. When their account was unblocked, they wrote a thank-you letter, praising Bs King, which sounded coerced.

CEP produced their first videocast at Moboking. Someone there was listening to what bloggers were saying about listening impaired and non-English speaking readers, because they also published a transcript.

As I watched the videocast, I couldn’t help but thinking that here’s yet another reason why CEP and TriStar are worlds apart from each other. While it included some cheerleading, it had a number of updates as well. First they talked about Trevor’s health and a new drink that has been helping him recover his energy. They also give updates on AS49, DSM and 4NM. In addition, they announced that a new CEP store for CEP logo products will be open soon. They also talked about the voting contest for Coasting88. They didn’t say much about a new site, PSE.

IMO, the most important part of the video, apart from health issues, was the following two topics…

ePanama is our newest blogger! Mark’s first article, about WebMoney, is below. However, there is a second article at his blog, Digital Money World, today that you should read, also. There are new rules for any site accepting credit card payments. It doesn’t matter if the site owner is huge, like Amazon, or a mom-and-pop operation. The rules are good news for those of us that make purchases online and are concerned about identity theft.

Well, we could see this coming. When TriStar Money Changers (TSMC) dropped surfs left and right they promised that the funds would still be available. Then again, Bobby’s promises are all a big puff of smoke… poof, promise is gone!

Here’s the update from Ads Daily Network (emails changed to links):

    Hello members.

Thanks to an alert poster, 24oz, you can add International Financial Services Commission to your DD resources. Among the programs on notice are AMF1989, Tropico LTD, Mentor Investing Group, E-Gold Investments Online and many others. The warnings are because these programs are not registered and/or not licensed to do business in Belize. They also warn when a given Belize address is fake and fraudulent, among other warnings.

Jude just posted that a few of us were talking in a conference. One of the things we were discussing was Leo’s excellent advice on “The Problems With Forums. Why You Should do Due Diligence on Posters in Threads”, located in DrunksWorld. (Read it! It’s extremely useful when you are trying to decide on joining a program or re-investing in one.) We were also discussing the SEC investigating Global Online Deposit news. Read the full story here. That lead to a conversation on how programs call investing different terms, like “loan”, “deposit”, “membership fee”, “ad pack”, etc.

I just found this post in a private forum. The source is credible:

Here might be some very valuable information you may want to know this hacker is good…damn good…

I would like to give this warning for all users and Admins. Please check your E-gold accounts and look for any spends to this account below. Do not look for payments received. He does not give, he takes. This guy has made one hell of a mess, excuse my language please!

I do believe this creep is using some type of exploit or mysql injection that I’m unaware of. I am on the search for new updates on any new mysql injection codes. Also, all Admins need to check all files on their servers and look for this software, Myshell, or anything with a .php or p.pl a.pl files that look funny. They can and will control your program and make you look really bad to your members. These are the creeps that try to make good Admins look bad. I want all of you to understand I don’t care what server you have, if they want in and want to tear you down they find ways. Again, the software they are using is Myshell

I alluded to staying away from referral hounds in the “Pick Your Upline” article and even gave my brief definition. Well two others have done a much better job defining “referral whore.” It’s a slow day in HYI news, so go have a laugh…

I ran across this news at Pinoy Money Talk. You can read the article here. (No need for me to write anything more, since it’s an excellent article.)

What a deal for those left out in the cold!

If you were a member of 9PlanetNoSurf, then you probably watch(ed) 9PlanetReviews for any refund news. Normally I read 9PlanetReviews as part of my daily reading, but not for much longer. Here’s a run down of this week’s updates:

Tuesday, 03/20/07 – John posts an email from one of his disgruntled former customers. First, John’s response to the emailer sickened me by how degrading it was. To add insult to injury, John has the audacity to post the emailer’s name and email address!! Shame on you, John!
