Visit the new ChamberOfGold.com to read up on the latest in investment, finances, e-currency, and yes… still a bit of HYIP news. Feeds from the top blogs and forums are being fed in daily and using the ajax interface you can easily read the stories that interest you most.

Prior to this old news when we’re down. There’s confirmation coming from Google that they stopped accepting Adword advertisements with the word E-gold. Source from Digital Money World,

Thank you for advertising with Google AdWords. After reviewing your account, we’ve found that one or more of your ads or keywords does not meet our guidelines. You can see your disapproved ad(s), the reason for disapproval, and editorial suggestions, from the Disapproved Ads page within your account.

Whilst GDCA has another warning issue on E-bullion, GDCA has responded to one of my friend, Dennis’s email.

    E-bullion

    First, here’s GDCA’s new warning,

    E-BULLION UPDATE (AUGUST 2007)
We have just been informed that E-bullion.com is also listed with an F rating by the Council of Better Business Bureau, Inc., and unanswered complaints seem to be going back as far as 2005. Details can be found here, on their own website.

I love the RSS feeds coming from Nobs Network, basically it really updates me what’s going on with other related partners of the same genre. Mark’s Digital Money World brings the top entries out of most.

Paypal Gets a BlogFirst you have E-gold having a blog, now Paypal gets interactive too! Check out The Paypal Blog.

E-bullion This piece of news is not new. I have been pondering whether the update on GDCA is recent since there’s no date indication on the page at all (Just look at the news right below, the piece on Intgold is so old!).

e-goldThe e-gold web site has finally added a blog and with this humble sentence a new era in communication has just begun….

“Hi, I’m Douglas Jackson and this is the first entry of the e-gold blog.”

e-goldBack in May, I wrote an article “Who’s Still Alive? 20 E-gold Agent Profiles“. This piece can be considered a follow up to that post.

One angle I’d like to explore, is just how much of e-gold’s business ‘jumped ship’ when they hit the wall. Are they fading away into the distant sunset? One way to calibrate their market acceptance might be to take a close look at who, if anyone, is still acting as an exchange agent for e-gold digital currency.

Are there any exchange providers that still accept e-gold or did the government’s indictment act as a deterrent to their daily business? Ron O’Brien, a senior security analyst at Sophos said in an interview, “But we’ll have to see if [this indictment] serves as a deterrent.” *

Well, open your peepers and let’s take a look.

E-gold exchange providers around the globe, with the exception of about ten, are all still actively providing exchange service for their clients. Even some of the larger agents which had their e-gold funds seized by the government, have just opened new e-gold accounts and are doing business today.

“In Doug We Trust” Who is still exchanging e-gold?

London Gold Exchange - Still strong! Debbie from LGE just confirmed with me inexchange (buy) for just 4% and outexchange (sell) fees are showing on their web as the low price of just 5%. What can I say about LGE that their web does not already tell us:

“In six years the London Gold Exchange has evolved into the Digital Gold and Silver provider of choice for thousands of happy customer’s world wide. Strategically placed with offices around the world, we are ideally positioned to enhance our reputation as the No.1 Digital Gold and Silver provider.”

Ice Gold - Alive but moving a bit slower today. They are accepting e-gold outexchange (selling) but its on a limited basis as they need it. “…we have set a limit of 10,000 USD (or equivalent) per customer in one day.” You can also buy e-gold from them for a 2% fee. International bank wires or local Estonia wire transfers are accepted. If you speak German, you can read the recent interview Paul Vahur gave to a liberty.li magazine regarding e-gold and the US actions.

AnyGoldNow - From their web, they appear to be alive and kicking. I just visited and their forms are working to process in and outexchanges. I will assume that means they are still active in the e-gold business. Their web shows, to buy e-gold, you will only pay between 1.25% and 2%. If you would like to sell, your outexchange fees will be 4%-7%. That is not too bad for Patrick’s quality service. AnyGoldNow features same day exchanges and trades e-gold, e-Bullion, Pecunix, C-gold & Phoenix Silver. Here is a new c-gold agent!

EuroGoldSales - Still exchanging e-gold. Like other agents, their rates vary. Sell them e-gold today you would be paying 6% in fees

c-goldLast week ushered in a shiny new golden beginning for digital money users. C-gold, a Malaysian start up digital gold currency, quietly entered the marketplace and now just a few days old it is rapidly gaining acceptance. C-gold, operates very similar to e-gold and even has that deja vu look and feel of the e-gold web site. However, in the past few days, there has been much discussion on chat lists revolving around whether this new business is just a clone or much more.

Assets, usage tokens, grids….what’s all this?

Read previous entries 1 and 2 so you can catch up on the Loom system or just watch the new Loom Tutorial Video.

There has been a lot of discussion in the past few weeks about Loom Gold and the Loom system. An Open Source ‘value transfer’ system, descriptions of the Loom have ranged from ‘economic dial tone’, fun with giant spreadsheets and on down to simply ‘the grid’. I believe Loom is all of those and more.

What can Loom do for you? Patrick and I spent some time on Skype. He explained and I listened. Here are a few of the points from our discussions which I have pieced together in Q&A form and mixed with some additional info. The following, along with the previous 2 posts on Loom, may help you to understand the dramatic benefits of Loom Gold and the reason I feel its has such a bright future.

Is Loom just an online accounting tool?

Patrick: Correct, Loom is not a currency. At its core, Loom is an entity called the Grid, which is somewhat like a giant abacus with one slight complication…you must reserve space on the abacus with “usage tokens.” Usage tokens are burned up in small fees as a user sets up their folder(s). This technique prevents the public from despoiling the space, and compensates the creators for the energy and time they spend maintaining it.

Advanced functions and API information can be found here. A very helpful interactive grid tutorial to help you set up and test grid operations can be found here and here is my newest informative Loom Tutorial Video.

Ok so you are interested in what is happening to e-gold because you have been paying and receiving e-gold online for months or even years now. But besides this great NOBS blog, where can you see who else supports e-gold and who is involved?

Try the new e-gold User Social Web for supporting and discussing the future of e-gold’s online business.

I just finished a couple of hours on Skype with Patrick Chkoreff, the gentleman who developed Loom Gold. Wow, it is simple, secure, private & very innovative. You can also Skype me now at ‘digitalcurrency’. This system, is better and easier then anything I’ve ever seen. Enough small talk….let me share with you what I learned. Before reading any further, forget about all other online payments you have ever known and open your mind to the ‘Loom’.

Loom Gold” is an Open Source software platform. That’s right it is Open Source and if Patrick will allow it you might even have one running on your own server. You would not be the first Loom on the block, there are a few successful Looms already in existence. Additionally you can customize your version with fancy colors, graphics, flash or secret access pages….basically you can do anything that floats your boat. However, when you visit this original Loom Gold web site you will notice it is pretty basic and designed for simplicity and easy navigation. “Welcome to Loom” is about all you will find on the main page.

    From The Main Page…..
If you are new to the Loom system, you will need to follow the link labeled create a new folder. What is a folder? This is where you keep your assets, or perhaps I should say digital money and that might be a better description for my readers. However, in Loom Gold, there are no folder names. The identifying information you need for any Loom ‘folder’ is simply the passphrase. With this system, your folder will have no identifying features beyond the passphrase. So when asked to create a folder, all you are actually doing is making up the lengthy passphrase. Loom also offers suggestions for creating that large random code which is your passphrase. That’s all the access you will need to get into your Loom Gold ‘account’ …..the passphrase. Pretty simple eh?

Creating a folder requires two steps. As listed above, step one is creating the passphrase. Step two is having the usage tokens to ‘pay’ for the folder creation.
