I shan’t steal the limelight, check out this email from Mark, DigitalMoneyWorld to the president of GDCA. A short glimpse of the email,
Dear Mr. GDCA President,
I have been writing and blogging lately about the possible or alleged recent issues regarding e-Bullion. I feel, as do many readers, it is important to determine whether these possible issues are rhetoric, a few unhappy agents or possibly big events that will effect the industry as a whole… I now see that the GDCA has posted a warning regarding e-bullion at: http://gdcaonline.org/content/news.html
This piece of news is not new. I have been pondering whether the update on GDCA is recent since there’s no date indication on the page at all (Just look at the news right below, the piece on Intgold is so old!).
Heating Up - Debate on XLOTwo and CSATM
16 Comments Surf Thoughts, Autosurf Scam Warnings, Ecurrency ThoughtsThings are heating up between Andy and our bunch of regular members at NN on the legitimacy of CSATM as well as his new modelled surf XLOTwo.
Though I would like to seperate the two entity when it comes to discussion, but it sem XLOTwo only accepts CSATM, which is a baby of Andy’s as well. Personally I wouldn’t be interested in any of his ventures because of past experiences with TheFinerThings (None with XLO for me) with the abrupt ending.
Came across this on Mark’s DigitalMoneyWorld and thought I should share this as well as it’s really a good read. Also if you can, feed DigitalMoneyWorld on your RSS feed. It’s worth it.
DID YOU SEE that the US Department of Justice indicted on-line firm e-Gold on charges of money laundering, conspiracy and operating an un-licensed money transmitting business?
Homo erectus was the one of the first creatures to walk upright sometime around 1.6 million years ago and he pretty much set a ‘trend’ for the rest of mankind. This evolutionary ‘trend’ is still followed by most of us today, especially when it comes to finance.
I haven’t been keeping myself in the loop of this whole Tri-Star saga (not interested in the first place), but you can read more on Drunk’s World as Leo blogged an entry on the official demise of Tri-Star.
Hopefully not many people got caught in this one. If you have lost any funds, maybe you can share with us via Comments.
You will probably never see Amazon or Overstock.com accepting eCache as a method of payment, however, more and more old school digital currency users are spending DBCs (digital bearer certificates). With the e-gold community still rocking in the wake of recent indictments, creative minds are now making moves towards more serious privacy.
Do you want to learn more about eCache? Then get ready to be confused….
E-gold is currently down for scheduled maintenance.
The e-gold system is temporarily offline for scheduled maintenance. Normal operation is expected to resume by 10:00 PM EDT. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
UPDATE: E-Gold is BACK ONLINE. All is working just fine.
Money Service Businesses (MSBs) – FinCEN U.S. Ruling
4 Comments Exchanger Speculation, Ecurrency ThoughtsWhat is and is not considered a Money Service Business (MSB) operating within the U.S.? The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury has made a ruling. You can read it here.
Just like most government issued documentation, it is hazy and leaves a lot open for interpretation. I am not a lawyer, but I do have an opinion on what they are defining as an MSB operating in the U.S.

Back in the days of the wild west, the United States was brand new, small town business was fresh and un regulated. A person could claim their fortune and leave their mark on just about any industry they desired, granted they had the savvy, smarts and cash to conquer the competition.
Flash forward 180 years to the .com era. Today the Internet is still very fresh and new. With no shortage of creative thinkers or venture capital, the world of private digital currency is certainly still brand new and unregulated by government. Sure the ‘Pinkerton boys’ are trying to shut down online gambling by prohibiting US payment processing but everyone knows, despite some very public ‘arrests’, trains are still being robbed and Pinkerton has a lot to learn.

CEP Videocast and Short Reopening
7 Comments Ecurrency Thoughts, Ecurrency Update, Autosurfs Update, HYIP UpdatesThis article is old news for most of you. I apologize for not getting out earlier. Dolphin, Dolphin’s Wink, has an excellent write-up in her article, “Ads On Demand.” (Yes, it is the same article that has TriStar information.)
Lately the hot topic has been the legality of money transmitters in the USA. The spotlight has been on CEPTrust and TriStar Money Changers (TSMC). I already reported that Trevor Reed, CEPTrust, is waiting for an answer from his new NY lawyer and that Bobby Krimm is stomping on anyone that dares to ask about the issue. PayPal, located in California, answered the licensing issue long ago by obtaining licenses in all states that requires one, as well as licensing in Canada and in the UK. (Note: MrsVee had an article a couple of weeks ago with links to two 2002 articles about PayPal, which are outdated and no longer applicable. It’s not like her to have outdated information.)
All of this got me thinking about other Payment Processors, like SolidTrustPay and AlertPay, which are located in Canada. Canadian and US justice systems support each other. Sometimes their laws are applicable to both countries. With all of the new questions about the legality of payment processors, I decided to search for an answer concerning SolidTrustPay. All that I found was the outstanding interview by Zen. (See The ZenDen interview here. Zen will be sorely missed as a blogger and interviewer!) Zen asked the legality question, but their answer only pertained to Canadian law. So, I wrote to SolidTrustPay. (Dolphin, The Dolphin’s Wink, helped me with the communication. Thanks, Dolphin!)
Here is their reply…

The Industry Is Changing & Growing…Who Will Emerge As The Digital Currency Front-Runner?
4 Comments Ecurrency ThoughtsE-gold is the most widely accepted digital gold currency online, Webmoney has the most agents and probably the most volume, Pecunix is considered to be the most private of the digital gold currencies while e-bullion seems as solid as a rock….but who will end up the front runner incorporated into the daily lives of all those online consumers? One or two years from now, who will be the leader in online retail sales?
This is a very big question.

Webmoney is what I consider a digital money ‘mover & shaker’. The aggressive online currency company is changing, adapting and quickly growing along with it’s Internet financial surroundings. I like Webmoney and write about them often *1,2,3,4. If you don’t yet have a Webmoney account, I would invite you to take a few minutes and set one up, its free and as an online payment tool its hard to beat their advantages.
All this talk about e-currency transmissions made me think about a couple of articles I read the other day. They concern e-gold. Both are extremely well written, researched and credible. The second article is in 3 parts.
