Let’s start the day by identifying mails you should ignore. Just received this 2 days ago with the header ‘Please update your account informations before 30 september 2007 for your security‘. Whoops, it’s already 1st October! :(

    • Don’t mistype the e-currency Web site addresses. Phishing sites are waiting for their victims there.
    • Use real info to register accounts, because companies may block accounts and ask for ID verification.

Thanks to Jose for the recommendation on NoPonzi Blog. Check out his post here on this free open source data encryption software, TrueCrypt.

If anyone’s a tech geek, TrueCrypt uses SHA-1, Whirlpool or RIPEMD-160 as hash algorithm for encryption. Yeap, and it supports Linux, XP and Vista as well.

Who says good things have to cost anything?

Since we have nothing much to update lately on the happenings of the HYI arena (apart from sad E-gold updates and crumbling ponzis), we’ll touch more on the security of your PC.

So there are people who pay for antiviruses and those who don’t. What’s the difference anyway? Why pay should the free ones be good enough to fend off those nasty codes?

Here’s something interesting. I know most of our readers are ardent Mozilla Firefox fans (over 62%, astonishing), myself inclusive, but lately because of Vista upgrade that I did a month ago, Internet Explorer is creeping back slowly to my life.. Let’s see

ePanama is our newest blogger! Mark’s first article, about WebMoney, is below. However, there is a second article at his blog, Digital Money World, today that you should read, also. There are new rules for any site accepting credit card payments. It doesn’t matter if the site owner is huge, like Amazon, or a mom-and-pop operation. The rules are good news for those of us that make purchases online and are concerned about identity theft.

In the past few days I’ve seen people posting their email address in comments. I’ve been editing them out for safety reasons.
