Found this from HYIP Discussion (very nice nifty toolbar addition). If you are serious about security when it comes to surfing, download this bar for free and try it out. It’s IE and Firefox compatible.
I’ve tried going to E-Qold.com (an obvious phishing site which I’ve warned users long long time ago) and immediately gotten prompt on the risk.
Firefox users should update your browser. Just click Help & Check for Updates on your Firefox browser menu. And you’re on your way there.
And if you’re still not a Firefox user? What are you waiting for?

If you get an email saying to check out a new hyip called HYIPreal.com
DO NOT OPEN IT, DO NOT GO TO THAT LINK.
It just redirects to a page called newsiness.com which opens an iframe that links to another page which exploits the windows IMG glitch, allowing the user to exploit you and install an exe on your computer.
Symantec has released an update to its popular Norton SystemWorks to fix a security problem that could be abused by cybercriminals to hide malicious software.
Guess this is old news. They’ve sent 2 emails which 1 is blank and the other which has an attachment. Do note should you open any of the mails you might be infected with

If we get selected we’ll put screenshots on here for everyone to see! This looks like a pretty amazing service that they say will ‘revolutionize’ the hyip industry. They will offer for a monthly fee a custom built-from-scratch hyip managing script, hosting, a domain, a forum, and more! Sounds like a great deal for all you hyip webmasters out there.

Surfing just got more dangerous..
Windows image file exploit W32/PFV-Exploit
http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/arch…5.html#00000752Those using IE or any browser using IE engine like Avant or Maxthon to surf might wanna consider switching to Firefox or Opera.
Those with Firefox 1.0.4 and below, you might wanna upgrade to a higher release.
There have been a case whereby a 12 DailyPro user has her account hacked, with the email details changed.
Dear fellow-members,

Online Extortion
How a Bookmaker and a Whiz Kid
Took On an Extortionist — and Won
Facing an online extortion threat, Mickey Richardson bet his Web-based business on a networking whiz from Sacramento who first beat back the bad guys, then helped the cops nab them. If you collect revenue online, you’d better read this.
An abstract from HYIPDiscussion which i thought might be informative to E-gold users.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have investigated
acct #2575225 and have placed a value limit on their account which will
prevent them from receiving any further spends into their account.
Unfortunately we will not be able to refund your money because an e-gold
spend is not reversible as stated in the e-gold account user at
http://www.e-gold.com/unsecure/e-g-agree.htm.If your account was compromised while AccSent was enabled, there is a high
probability that you either have a security hole in your computer, which
allowed hackers to take control of your computer or you have a Trojan virus,
spyware or keylogger software installed on your computer because someone not
only had access to your e-gold passphrase, they also had access to your
email address password. AccSent monitors account access attempts and issues
a one-time PIN challenge to those coming from IP address ranges or browsers
that differ from the last authorized account access. Your account was
accessed from remoteip ‘205.209.153.104′ and a pin was sent to the email
address on the account. The person logged into your email account and
retrieved the pin, accessed your e-gold account and made an unauthorized
spend from the account.

Update update!
For Linux/ Unix users, you’re alright. As exploiters usually targets the main crowd (the microsoft supporters). Ensure your copy of Windows is updated from Windows Update, and those with Microsoft Office, do update it as well.
Firewall
Never ever open any unsolicited mails claiming from E-gold that they will wipe your account out if you do not login within the next 24 hours or any of such sort. Emails are easily spoofed. The scammer could send you an email with @e-gold.com and direct you to another site from the links of the email (such as e-Qold.com).
To secure your E gold account, there’s only a few simple steps to take note in which i realised alot of sites do have it included in their FAQs. First, take a look at http://www.e-gold.com/security.html
